MAKER: Marti Michell pioneered many advancements in American quilting from kits to better batting, to sourcing nice cottons to making her own reproduction-inspired and original prints. 1980s Marti Michell Floral Cotton Quilting Fabric
This delightfully expressive floral designed by American quilting luminary Marti Michell features a richly dual toned background print of tiny lines set against each other. On top of this is a Chinoiserie-inspired floral, the look of which would lend itself nicely to an 18th century woman’s jacket or petticoat, or a man’s waistcoat.
The garment/quilting weight fabric would also work in quiltmaking, or even as pillow fronts (though you may wish to add some stabilizer to make it stronger).
An edgy depth to the color family and mood.
