This listing is for one curtain panel. Two are available.
I’ve never seen a barkcloth quite like this with its playfully twee storybook renderings of flowers, columns, signs, scrolls, and other fanciful, super girlie elements. Unlike other ’50s barkcloth pieces with their atomic age sensibility, this late ’50s barkcloth is all about romance, kind of a Funny Face or Breakfast at Tiffany’s kind of vibe.
No doubt these would make awesome curtains for a throwback romantic room. Your other option is to deconstruct one or both of the panels to make all kinds of upcycled barkcloth goodies that will be truly unique in the barkcloth pantheon.
COLORS: The background is a creamy white — more white than cream. The various motifs are drawn in black with a taupe to brown shadowing. The print is speckled with dusty rose/salmon colored accents and light touches of a dusty midnight blue.
Condition: Very good!
Size. The panels are 42″ at the top with pleating for curtain clips. As they spread out over the length of the curtain they are 86″ at the widest bottom point.
Price: Each panel; is $129. Free domestic shipping. Combo me if you want both and I’ll custom list for 20% off.
SHOP MISSION: For art and textiles I use eco-friendly resources including non-txic materials, and upcycled textiles turned into new products. My philosophy is #buyantiquesfirst #buyvintagefirst #buyusedfirst #buyupcycledfirst and sell them as they are, or turn them into something new.
I believe it’s our duty as contemporary earth dwellers to not make new demands on the industrial economy and instead to utilize already embedded energy is the quadrillions of products already made and still useable in life today either as they are, or transformed into something fresh.
With my products, together you and I help reduce earth impacts since I source vintage items and resources either as they are, or to upcycle into new products, giving them a new life. This reduces demand on current resources, preserves history, and keeps valuable items out of the landfill, all of which asks just a little bit less out of our ever-giving Mother Earth. And since Etsy buys carbon offsets for all shipping, this approach is a win-win for the sustainability-minded shopper.
