1950s Schumacher “Blenheim” Handprinted Fabric Sample
A truly unusual piece, Schumacher’s “Blenheim” fabric is a 100% cotton chintz fabric with metallic accents. The color of the piece is called “Antique Gold,” but the substantial metallic portions can be read as either gold or bronze depending on how you see color. #61387 in the Schumacher archive.
Sumptuous oversized flowers sit amidst various curvilinear flourishes, smaller geometric and floral patterning, butterflies, and “white space,” (in this case being the celadon background).
