What a find! This 1960s era Bloomcraft tablecloth is in pristine condition and offers multiple design elements that comprise the whole — Indienne-like small flowers (1″) are scattered across the whole of the design in a very 18th style block print manner.
Large (12″ wide x 13″ high paisleys run down either side of a central squared design of alternating paisley floral motifs that are 4″ x 4″ (doubled). A single strip of these motifs run along the two long ends at the hem.
The large paisleys feature Jacobean-like flowers along with swans, peacocks, and diamond-shaped geometric repetitions.
This is at once both charming and sophisticated, both folk and potentially formal with tableware coordinated in a maximalist or contrasting high style. Not an outdoor fabric but could be used on a nice day outdoors for a very bohemian table setting. In that regard it could be used for festive or celebratory occasions. More of an autumnal feel but a laid back folk quality allows it to adapt to all seasons properly accessorized.
Busy design is likely to be forgiving if ever there’s a spill.
Alternatively you could cannibalize for the fabric and upcycle into something else.
