Description
RARE — amazing find! This late 60s/early 70s flower power fabric by Cohama is called “TAJ,” perhaps alluding to some kind of East Indian influence. This piece is like Indienne meets Jacobean meets psychedelia meets Grandmillennial, making everyone feel maximalist, gorgeous, and groovy. All the flowers and leavers are tricked out in paisley-like decorative motifs for that trippy, trippy feel.
And at nine luscious yards, it’s enough to do a couch or settee, set of chairs, WOW curtains, fabric wallpaper application (Google it), tons of pillows, the headboard of a bed, and on and on the possibilities. (Read below for purchasing less yardage.)
Yet at a mid weight it also could work for a mumu style dress, housecoat, sheath dresses, etc. A designer could get several pieces out of this for an upcycled true vintage couture collection.
FIBER: Cotton.
COLOR: The background yellow is darker and more vibrant than some of my pics indicate — it is an INTENSE sunshine yellow. Pic #9 was taken in direct sunlight and that’s the closest to its true color. Other colors include chartreuse, russet, taupe, neon orange, off white, teal, and black.
SIZE: 45″ wide X 1 yard increments. On desktops, add 1 yard and then go to your shopping cart to add more yardage. Sold as one 9-yard piece for $979 for a savings of $92.
CONDITION: Mint! New old stock.
Maker: Cohama made textiles early in the 20th century and the fabrics were used by such design luminaries as Diane Von Furstenburg.

SUSTAINABILITY: ALL my packaging except tape is 100% re-used. Your invoice is available digitally in your account. I source vintage items and resources either as they are, or to upcycle into new products, giving them a new life. This reduces demand on current resources, preserves history, and keeps valuable items out of the landfill, all of which asks just a little bit less out of our ever-giving Mother Earth. Etsy buys carbon offsets for all shipping, which is a win-win for the sustainability-minded shopper.
