Description
Step out at the Jane Austen Festival looking like the page of a fashion plate!
“La Belle Provence,” a beautiful, vintage 1980s fabric in a hand blocked Indienne style reminiscent of fabrics used in the 19th century in England and the United States.
Lovely trails of tiny vining leaves in Deep Plum throughout the piece are broken up by stylized flowers in pink with deep plum edges and base with three leaves in grass green and olive green beneath.
While it is heavier than the utterly sheer fabrics of many Federal or Regency era (Jane Austen style) gowns, it is not too heavy for a dress of this kind, or a waistcoat for the 18th or 19th centuries — but it is NOT sheer.
It could also easily work in to any country decor, 19th century inspired decor, or folk-infused decor.
Mid weight, firm hand, slight drape, with a weave that reads more as a linen than a cotton.
SIZE: 69″ inches wide + .5″ selvedge on one side x 8.5 yards. Small leaves are .25″ each and in clusters of .5″. Pink Flowers are 1.1″ long and 1″ wide.
CONDITION: Mint.
BUYING OPTIONS: Sold by the entire 8.5 yard piece. If you want less, it will be $69. per yard. Convo me if you need a special order.
SUSTAINABILITY: ALL my packaging except tape is 100% re-used. Your invoice is available digitally in your account. I source vintage items and resources (or in this case, discontinued stock that’s 8 years old) either as they are, or to upcycle into new products, giving them a new life. This reduces demand on current resources, preserves history, and keeps valuable items out of the landfill, all of which asks just a little bit less out of our ever-giving Mother Earth. Etsy buys carbon offsets for all shipping, which is a win-win for the sustainability-minded shopper.
