One yard of Schumacher’s charming (and now out-of-print) “Jungle Gym” fabric in the white colorway with vivid red, shades of bluish-gray, chartreuse, mustard, and avocado green.
Owls, monkeys, squirrels, racoons, birds, and cats play, chat, eat, and exercise in and around lofty red trees with avocado colored leaves. Adorable juvenile fabric for a nursery, playroom, baby bag, or other uses.
SIZE: 54.5″ wide w/ a 1″ selvedge on each side x 1 yard long.
Fiber: 100% cotton. Mid weight canvas feel.
What Can You Make? A pillow, Roman shade for a small window, a couple of chair seats, a fabric screen, piecing for quilts, piecing for fashion accessories, or there’s enough to do a twin size head board if strategized well (twin size headboard is 41″ wide). Or use like this designer is doing, by piecing it to one part of a piece of furniture while using other fabrics to finish it out: https://w9yards.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Birds-of-a-Feather-pg-1.png

CONDITION: Overall it is superior. However on the last right hand column some of the red from the trees has lightly smeared down. It’s largely unnoticeable in the context of the overall piece but if you look you’ll see it — pic #9 — so I included that for full disclosure. I already factored this minor discoloration into the price.
MAKER: F. Schumacher & Co. was founded by Frederic Schumacher in the late 19th century in New York and went on to become one of the most influential American design houses of all time, working on multiple White House interiors and other historic homes across the decades, employing design doyenne Dorothy Draper, and drawing from history and their own archives in notable design projects.
