I’m going to be at The Philadelphia Flower Show for a talk on my work-in-process 31 Days of Urban Agriculture on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 5pm in a space called The Gardener’s Studio (located on the Show floor adjacent to the PHS Hamilton Horticourt).
The deets
The 45-minute interactive talk will focus on the growing urban agriculture movement. We’ll look at how art and other communications can help educate people and communities about the benefits of urban farming while inspiring them to get involved and/or support the movement.
I’ll pass around my art for folks to see up close, talk about my medium — linoleum block prints — and my style — typography mixed with imagery in an old-school nod to the broadside — and do a live printing demo.
There will be plenty of time for comments, questions, and mingling afterward.
Also, you’ll get free kraft paper poster of one of my designs while supplies last!
The talk is FREE with your purchase of a general admission ticket to the Philadelphia Flower Show. (Ticket purchases are $5 cheaper than advertised if you buy online before February 28th and $2 cheaper online February 28-March 8.)
Help me let folks know
If you’re involved in an urban farming organization or related businesses, or a fan of hand made art, I’d love it if you’d download this Pdf. poster to help let others know about this fun talk. Please post it in a co-op, at a farm, in a coffee shop, or share it via e-mail with your list. Or please share it on Facebook and Twitter.
You can also download a handout I made that I’ll be giving out at the show.
I hope to see you there!
